Custom Injection-Molded Plastic Bushings
Define the installed shaft-to-bushing fit, not only the dimensions of a loose sleeve.
Request custom plastic bushing parts with project-specific flanges, locating features and bores. Bring the shaft, housing and operating brief into the quotation so material selection and inspection represent the actual assembly.

Product details
Bore, flange and installed-fit details
Explore plastic bushing design concepts and the interfaces that determine how a sleeve locates and operates.

Flanged form
Separate axial location from the radial guidance requirement.

Straight sleeve
Specify the housing retention method rather than assuming a close fit is enough.

Bore entry
Review shaft insertion and the working section of the bore.

Flange and seating
Define the axial location and housing seating relationships explicitly.

Mating parts
Loose and installed dimensions describe different component states.
Illustrative configurations. Final specifications follow your approved drawings.
Application fit
Custom polymer guidance and locating parts
These design examples show component configurations, not stock bearing ratings or verified wear results.

Flanged bushings
Custom sleeves with shoulders that locate the component axially or provide a specified contact interface.
Straight guide sleeves
Molded cylindrical parts for defined shaft and housing relationships, with a reviewed retention and movement requirement.
Integrated locating parts
Bushings with customer-defined flats, tabs or mounting features where combining functions justifies custom tooling.

What to send for a meaningful quotation
Use the same drawing and requirements for every proposal. Mark open decisions explicitly so that a low price does not conceal a different deliverable.
| Area | Please provide | Review before release |
|---|---|---|
| Counterparts | Shaft and housing drawings, surface condition and revisions. | Define free and installed fit, alignment and retention. |
| Material | Exact POM, nylon or other candidate grade and exposure. | Conditioning, dimensional behavior and counterface suitability. |
| Operation | Motion, load direction, dwell, lubrication and environment. | Use an application-specific evaluation rather than a generic friction claim. |
| Geometry | Bore, flange, wall transitions and locating features. | Review mold release, gate restrictions and any secondary finishing. |
| Acceptance | Critical dimensions, specimen state and functional checks. | Separate loose-part inspection from assembly and wear evaluation. |
| Order | Development quantity, production demand and packing. | Confirm tooling, sample approval and change-control responsibilities. |
From drawing to approval
Approve the material, fit and inspection state together

Define the moving pair
Collect the actual shaft, housing and operating requirements.
Review molding feasibility
Evaluate the selected grade, wall form, tooling and any proposed finishing operation.
Check identified samples
Measure loose parts and evaluate the agreed installed condition without undocumented forcing.
Close the evidence gaps
Separate component approval from any required operating-life evaluation before production release.
Practical engineering and buying guides
Six decisions to make before production
- Plastic Bushing Materials: POM, Nylon and Filled GradesCompare exact POM, nylon and filled resin grades for custom bushings using shaft conditions, moisture, load, wear evidence and installed fit.
- Flanged vs Sleeve Plastic Bushings: Choosing the GeometryChoose a flanged or straight plastic bushing by reviewing radial guidance, axial contact, housing support, retention and installation access.
- Nylon Bushing Moisture: What to Check in the Shaft FitReview nylon bushing conditioning, housing restraint and shaft clearance without treating dry measurements as proof of fit in every service condition.
- Plastic Bushing Press Fits: Why the Installed Bore ChangesInvestigate a tight plastic bushing by separating loose-part size, housing interference, installation damage and the installed shaft clearance.
- Plastic Bushings: Shaft Finish, Load and LubricationDefine the shaft, motion, load and lubrication conditions when selecting a custom plastic bushing instead of relying on a generic friction value.
- When Does a Custom Plastic Bushing Justify Injection Molding?Compare stock, machined and custom molded bushings using geometry, design stability, installed tolerances, order demand and total approval scope.
Before you request a quote
Are these standard catalog bearings?
No. The page is for custom molded bushing parts. A stock bearing may be preferable when it meets the complete application requirement.
Can I select a bushing by material name alone?
No. The exact grade, counterface, installed fit, motion and environment must be reviewed together.
Is the loose bore the final working bore?
Not necessarily. Installation and restraint can change the bore; define the required measurement and assembly condition.
Can you guarantee a universal wear life?
No. Any life or load requirement needs a defined application and agreed representative evaluation.
Your next step
Discuss the part with its intended function.
Share the bushing, shaft and housing drawings with the actual movement and exposure. We can review a custom molding scope against that assembly.
