Custom molded parts · Made to your design
Custom LSR Silicone Keypads
Develop the keymat around the switch stack and the response your equipment needs.
Send the keypad and bezel drawings together with the contact arrangement and intended actuation behavior. We review the molded web, key spacing, perimeter features and any decoration as a coordinated supply scope. The keypad is a custom component, not an off-the-shelf certified control assembly.

Product details
Silicone Keypads: product details
Product design illustrations showing component features and assembly relationships. The final geometry is made to your approved drawing.

Flexible key web
Review web geometry against force and travel in the supported assembly.

Contact interface
Specify whether the key actuates a separate switch or uses a conductive contact.

Light window
Define the optical path and coating construction with the light source.

Assembly stack
Match keymat, bezel, switch board and rear support revisions.

Perimeter feature
A molded lip is not a finished-equipment ingress rating.
Illustrative configurations. Final specifications follow your approved drawings.
Application fit
A custom component with a defined purpose
Develop the keymat around the switch stack and the response your equipment needs.

Equipment keymats
Raised keys, navigation controls and grouped keymats for an identified bezel and switch arrangement. Define the supported stack and permitted movement before tooling.
Illuminated interfaces
Translucent regions, opaque surfaces and light windows reviewed with the actual source and surrounding enclosure. Backlight uniformity needs assembly evaluation.
Decorated controls
Printed or laser-decorated legends as separately agreed operations. Define the layer construction, appearance references and durability method.
Quote-ready inputs
What to send for a meaningful quotation
Use the same drawing and requirements for every proposal. Mark open decisions explicitly so that a low price does not conceal a different deliverable.
| Area | Please provide | Review before release |
|---|---|---|
| Project definition | Current CAD, drawing revision, mating components and quantities. | Mark fixed interfaces and open design decisions before comparing quotations. |
| Mechanical response | Force curve, travel, probe method, switch type and support. | Separate the keymat response from the complete switch assembly. |
| Electrical interface | Contact arrangement, circuit geometry and resistance requirements. | Carbon contacts and mechanical pushers are different configurations. |
| Appearance | Legend artwork, coating layers, illumination and cleaning exposure. | Confirm the decoration process and its validation before release. |
| Supply and release | Trial, first-order and repeat quantities, packing and report needs. | Agree tooling scope, approval hold points and change control. |
From drawing to approval
From the assembly requirement to production approval

Align the scope
Review the web and contact stack, develop the tool, evaluate identified molded samples, then approve any decoration and complete assembly checks.
Review the tool and material
Confirm the exact compound, molding route and any secondary operations. Resolve proposed changes against the functional drawing before tooling release.
Evaluate identified samples
Record cavity and lot identity with dimensional and agreed functional observations. Keep incomplete validation separate from completed acceptance.
Release the approved configuration
Retain the drawing, material, process route and inspection method. Review later changes against the configuration that was actually approved.
Practical engineering and buying guides
Decisions to make before production
- Silicone Keypad Design: Force, Travel and Tactile FeelSpecify silicone keypad actuation force, travel and tactile response together. Review the web, switch stack, support and sample measurement method.
- Carbon Pills vs Metal Domes for Silicone KeypadsCompare conductive carbon contacts and metal domes for silicone keypads using switching force, travel, board interfaces, resistance and assembly requirements.
- Backlit Silicone Keypads: Legends, Light Bleed and UniformityDesign a backlit silicone keypad around the light path, opaque barriers, legend process and assembled viewing conditions. Keep illumination and sealing tests separate.
- Silicone Keypads vs Membrane Keypads: Product Trade-OffsCompare silicone and membrane keypads using tactile response, profile, decoration, sealing interfaces and assembly cost. Choose for the intended equipment interface.
- Printed vs Laser-Etched Silicone Keypad LegendsCompare printed and laser-etched silicone keypad legends for contrast, backlighting, wear and process control. Specify the finished decoration stack and test exposure.
- LSR Injection vs Compression Molding for Custom KeypadsCompare LSR injection and compression molding for custom silicone keypads using tooling, geometry, decoration, handling and approval scope rather than volume alone.
Before you request a quote
Can the same keymat work with carbon contacts and metal domes?
These are different electrical and tactile arrangements. Review the web, pusher, travel and supporting circuit before selecting a construction.
Can you guarantee a standard operating force?
Force depends on the complete geometry and switch stack. Send a target range and test method so feasibility and acceptance can be agreed.
Are printed and laser legends interchangeable?
No. They require different surface constructions and validation. The quotation should identify the exact route and artwork.
Your next step
Discuss the part with its intended function.
Send the silicone keypads drawing with its mating interfaces and acceptance requirements. We will review the proposed molding scope and identify the information needed for a meaningful quotation.
