Custom LSR Silicone Cable Grommets
Bring the panel, cable and sealing interface into one manufacturing review.
FECISION reviews custom liquid silicone rubber grommets for controlled cable-entry interfaces. Send the panel opening, cable specification, component drawing and acceptance requirements to define tooling and molding. This is made-to-design supply, not a catalog of universally rated waterproof parts.

Product details
Explore cable-entry details and mating features
Product design illustrations show possible configurations. Exact compound, geometry and assembly acceptance are specific to your project.

Round panel grommet
Control the cable bore, panel groove and retaining flanges as distinct features.

Multiple cable openings
Review each cable interface, installation access and the spacing between openings.

Extended cable-exit profile
Discuss routing and movement requirements; a flexible boot alone does not establish strain-relief performance.

Section and lip geometry
Identify contact surfaces and free-part dimensions on a controlled section drawing.

Installed interface
Evaluate seating with the specified panel condition and cable jacket.
Illustrative configurations. Final specifications follow your approved drawings.
Application fit
Cable-entry components for a defined equipment design
Custom tooling is useful when standard grommets do not meet your panel shape, cable arrangement or integration requirements.

Equipment enclosure cable entries
Single or multiple cable openings reviewed with panel thickness, cable variation and installation access.
Soft edge-protection interfaces
Molded profiles that separate cable jackets from enclosure edges, with project-specific retention and movement requirements.
Sealing-lip components
Custom lips and grooves developed with an agreed assembled test configuration and service exposure plan.
Quote-ready inputs
What to send for a meaningful quotation
Use the same drawing and requirements for every proposal. Mark open decisions explicitly so that a low price does not conceal a different deliverable.
| Area | Please provide | Review before release |
|---|---|---|
| Mating geometry | Panel hole, thickness, finish and tolerances; cable diameter range, jacket and routing. | Review seating, contact surfaces and installation access together. |
| Controlled component | Current CAD, section drawing, critical lip, groove and bore requirements. | Assess tool split, gate position, venting, demolding and inspection access. |
| Material and exposure | Approved grade or candidate requirements, hardness method, color and service or cleaning exposure. | Review grade-specific documentation without transferring generic material claims to the assembly. |
| Acceptance evidence | Dimensional method, visual limits, assembly tests, sample count and required reports. | Separate tool-trial checks, pilot validation and routine production controls. |
| Supply scope | Development quantities, repeat demand, packaging, assembly and secondary operations. | Identify tooling and molding responsibilities, partner operations and customer qualification work. |
From drawing to approval
Develop the component around its real mating conditions

Define the assembly
Confirm grommet, panel and cable revisions, service conditions and acceptance criteria.
Review material and tool design
Assess compound candidates, critical surfaces, filling, air escape and removal of flexible lips.
Evaluate identified trial parts
Inspect dimensions and appearance, then test the agreed assembly population with traceable conditions.
Agree release and change controls
Record remaining validation, approved configuration, sampling and material or tooling change triggers.

Decisions to make before production
- Custom Silicone Cable Grommets: Prepare a Useful RFQSpecify custom silicone grommets with panel geometry, cable details, material, quantities and assembly tests so tooling quotations cover the same scope.
- Cable Grommet Fit: Panel Hole, Groove and Cable DimensionsReview a silicone cable grommet as a complete fit: panel opening, thickness, groove, cable diameter, seating surfaces and inspection conditions.
- Silicone Grommet Hardness: Balance Fit and Seal CompressionChoose silicone grommet hardness with geometry, installation, contact load and aging evidence. A Shore A number alone does not establish a reliable seal.
- LSR Grommet Defects: Bubbles, Flash and Torn Sealing LipsInvestigate bubbles, flash and lip tearing in molded silicone grommets by separating material delivery, cavity venting, tool closure and demolding evidence.
- Cable Grommet Water Testing: Define the Complete AssemblyPlan water-ingress checks for silicone cable grommets with controlled panels, cables, test conditions and results. Keep IPX7 and dust claims separate.
- Silicone Cable Grommets: Validate Cleaning ExposureEvaluate cleaning exposure on silicone cable grommets using the actual agent, contact method, assembly strain and defined dimensional and functional checks.
Before you request a quote
Are these stock grommets?
This page covers custom molding. Compare standard catalog parts first if they already meet the panel, cable and validation requirements.
Can you make different cable sizes?
The bore and profile can be reviewed for a defined cable specification. Different diameters or jackets may require separate geometry and assembly validation.
Which Shore A hardness should I choose?
There is no universal value. Review the exact compound, lip geometry, seating, installation and aging requirements, then evaluate the selected assembly.
Does an immersion test establish IP67?
Not by itself. A water-only assessment does not establish dust protection, and any rating claim must match the applicable method, tested configuration and evidence.
Can these be used in medical equipment?
Provide the intended use, contact conditions and required documentation for review. This page does not claim device approval or biological suitability for an unspecified application.
What is needed for a quote?
Send CAD and drawings, panel and cable specifications, material requirements, quantities, secondary operations and the proposed inspection and assembly tests.
Your next step
Discuss the part with its intended function.
Send the grommet drawing together with the panel and cable details. We can review a defined tooling, molding and sample-validation scope.
