Polypropylene has a melting point between 220-280°C, making it suitable for moderate temperature applications. Standard PP can typically withstand continuous use temperatures up to 100°C. For higher temperature requirements, we offer specialized PP formulations with heat stabilizers that can extend this range. For extreme high-temperature applications, we may recommend alternative materials like nylon or polycarbonate.
For PP injection molding, we recommend a minimum wall thickness of 0.8mm for most applications. The optimal wall thickness typically ranges from 1.5mm to 3.5mm, which balances material usage, cycle time, and part strength. Compared to other commonly used injection molding materials, PP offers an excellent balance of properties and cost.
